The basics
Location: Bath, England
Bookings: Direct bookings can be made online here
Good for: Solo travelers, girls trip, family, groups
Highlights: Location, comfort level, breakfast bundle
Notes: I stayed at the George Street location which has had an upgrade since my visit. They also have apartments located on Henry Street which you can check out here.
The location
One of the most convenient things about The Halcyon Apartments is that they are located a 10-minute walk from the center of town.
It’s especially convenient for solo female travelers because you can get around easily on your own without having to walk long distances at night or wait around for taxis.
As with most accommodation that I love, I love that it’s close enough to get to all the main sights on foot easily, yet far enough away that you can enjoy a little quiet in the evenings.
From the apartment, I could walk all around town easily and I had no trouble walking around town by myself.
Do you need to rent a car in Bath?
When you stay at Halcyon Apartments, I don’t recommend renting a car unless you plan to do longer day trips outside of town.
If you are sightseeing around town, it’s much easier to walk than drive because the parking situation can make things a little difficult.

Value for money
At Halcyon, there is a range of apartments and suites to choose from ranging in price.
I always obsessed with making sure I get value for money when I travel and between the location, amenities, breakfast, and comfort you get such good value for money here.
During my stay, I stayed in two different apartments. In this post, I’ll be focusing on sharing my experience in Apartment 3.
The rooms
When I entered Apartment 3, the coziness emanated through every room and I was taken aback by how homely it felt. I credit this to the little details – the board games, the reading chair, the couch pillows. It felt like a home away from home.
One of my favorite little details is the ‘don’t forget your key’ signs that you see before you leave your apartment.
Inside the boutique apartment is an elegantly decorated kitchen, lounge room, bedroom, and bathroom fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. In classic English fashion, the apartment is also stocked with different varieties of tea and a kettle.
If you’re a tea lover like me you are in luck.
The tall windows allow for an uninterrupted view of George street below. And, with these tall windows, the morning light paints the kitchen each morning as if decorating it with a fresh start.
It’s no surprise that it is lovely to have breakfast under the glow of the soft, morning light.
The comfort level
You’ll be happy to know that when you crash at the end of the night, you will be falling asleep on a fluffy cloud. At least that’s what it feels like.
Even though they are apartments, you still get to enjoy the little luxuries of a hotel.
The bathrooms are generously stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Each apartment has Wi-Fi and there is also a housekeeping service so you won’t have to worry about cleaning each day.
All you have to think about is enjoying your time in the beautiful town of Bath.
Breakfast hamper
Speaking of breakfast, a breakfast hamper is delivered to your room and restocked each day.
The hamper contains fresh juice, milk, cereal, fruit, croissant, bread, jams, and, best of all, eggs and proper bacon. That’s right – the actual meat, not the greasy American style.
I made my breakfast each day and it always kept me going as I was wandering around the town.
Where to eat near Halcyon Apartments in Bath
Halcyon Apartments are self-catered, so you have the facilities to make your own meals if you prefer.
If you’d like to go out for a meal, you don’t have to go far to find a good one. Clayton’s Kitchen at The Porter is just next door and serves up a culinary treat in a charming, intimate setting.
The menu had a little of everything, though I stuck to my favorite food group of seafood. I enjoyed some delicious crab meat and fish accompanied by a glass of white wine. Of course, there is always room for dessert so I finished it all off with a sweet treat of salted caramel mousse.
Needless to say that I walked out of there with a happy belly.
If you’re up for a drink afterward you can head downstairs to the classy Circo Bar for a cocktail. It’s a sophisticated lounge where you can reserve a table to sit at, stand by the bar or have a boogie on the dance floor.
There are also a number of other restaurants and cafes in the area and I’ve linked my eating guide at the end of this post.
Overall thoughts
I loved my stay at the Halcyon Apartments in Bath. It was different from being at a regular hotel but different in a good way.
It truly felt like a home away from home, the location made exploring the city very easy, and it was fantastic value for money.

I love the idea of a breakfast hamper so cute. I haven’t been to Bath since last year but also loved Clayton’s Kitchen – I went for breakfast before having my hair blow-dried at Melanie Giles. Such a lovely start to the day! I’ll have to consider these apartments if I have another trip to Bath soon!
I hope you get to stay there Reena, it’s such a wonderful place to stay. Enjoy the breakfast hampers! 🙂
